Online checkouts use a variety of methods to keep information secure, including:

  • Encryption

Encrypts sensitive data like payment details and login credentials using protocols like Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS). This prevents hackers from accessing the data if they intercept it.

  • SSL certificates

SSL certificates create a link between a website and a user's browser, and browsers will indicate if a website has an SSL certificate.

  • Monitoring

Advanced monitoring systems can detect suspicious activities, such as unusual transaction patterns or multiple failed attempts.

  • Payment processors

Some payment processors use TLS, which is an updated version of SSL.

  • Payment vaults

Payment vaults store customer payment information so that it can be used for future purchases.

  • Account updates

Account updates automatically update customer payment information if a card is lost, stolen, or expired.

  • Third-party services

Some third-party services, like PayPal, can act as an intermediary between a merchant and a customer. This allows a customer to make a payment using a login and password, without giving their credit card information to the merchant.

Your emails and account information are never shared with any third parties, ensuring your privacy and security.
